England - Yorkshire Dales to Lake District

What was once the gatehouse to the abbey, the Porter's Lodge, has an exhibition area which describes the lives of the monks and the history of Fountains Abbey. There is also a large scale model of the abbey at the time of the Dissolution, in the mid 1500s.
